The Southern Colorado Patriot Guard Riders invite you to stand and cheer the Run For The Wall (RFTW) riders as they pass through Falcon CO enroute to their overnight stop in Limon on Saturday May 18, 2024. This year we’re joining forces with American Legion Riders Post 2008 so we can form a single larger flag line rather than a few smaller ones. RFTW’s schedule has them departing Pueblo with police escort at 1:45, so they could be at Falcon as early as 2:30ish.
The RFTW mission is “to promote healing among ALL veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA), to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA) from all wars, and to support our military personnel all over the world.” You probably know someone in this cross-country event, so let’s go cheer them on.
2:00 PM: Stage at the Fire Station in Falcon at 7030 Old Meridian Rd, Peyton, CO 80831. Park safely along Old Meridian Road and form up in front of the fire station.
2:15 PM: Brief and pass out flags.
Immediately after receiving a flag: Form a safe line along US 24 and wait for RFTW to pass.
Upon spotting the RFTW convoy approaching: Start screaming and waving that flag!
Rich Blackaby will bring several bags of US flags. Any Ride Captain driving a cage to the event is encouraged to bring their service flags as well.
Interested and hungry PGR members and guests are invited to gather for lunch prior to the RFTW event at The Airplane Restaurant, 1665 Newport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80916.
12:00 PM: Meet at The Airplane Restaurant.
1:15 PM: Depart for Falcon Fire Department.
Rick “Subway” Glitz will be Ride Captain
Thank you. I will plan on being at the Airport Restaurant at the appointed time, with flags.
