On Saturday, October 30th, the Colorado PGR held the annual Toy Run in order to collect toys and gifts for the children and families of fallen service members. Distribution to families is through the Tragedy Assistance Program/Survivor Outreach Services/ (TAPs/SOS) based at Fort Carson. TAPs/SOS, while based on Fort Carson, supports all branches of the military, not just the Army. All families who lost loved ones while serving, regardless of the reason, are supported. In 2020, the contribution of toys, gifts and gift cards totaled $2,598.00. This year's Toy Run did not raise quite as much. The donations will be delivered to Fort Carson on November 19th, so, there is still time for those who wish to contribute. I will collecting toys, gifts and gift cards, at Missions, until November 19, 2021.
Thank you. Jim
Please read the following note of thanks that was received following the 2020 Toy Run: December 18, 2020 Thank you for the recent contribution on behalf of the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders. I offer my gratitude for the generous donation of gift cards and toys, valued at $2,598.00. Your donation supports the ongoing programing needs for our Families of the Fallen. Your support allows our Survivors Outreach Services Program to extend their support for our Families of the Fallen, through the Holidays. Your generosity makes a huge impact on our community at Fort Carson. This gift supports the health, comfort and morale of our team on the Mountain Post. Thanks again for your continued support of our Soldiers and their Families. Nathan R. Springer Colonel, US Army Garrison Commander
There will be one more opportunity to contribute to the families of the fallen through the TAPs/SOS programs on Fort Carson. Jim Balcerovich will be at the 9:00AM Service at Fort Logan, on Friday, November 19th, and will collect the toys, gifts and gift cards that we have collected.
Thank you.
Jim
