It is such an honor to be a part of the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders. This solemn weekend began with a Memorial Service for nineteen "Unclaimed" Veterans, two of whom served during WWI. These Heroes had been "Abandoned" for any number of reasons, but, they were finally "Welcomed Home", this morning. Our group has been honored to participate in four or five of these events in recent years. Having this outcome after all this time means so much, particularly, at this time of year.
This afternoon, we stood in Honor for an Air Force Veteran. Four of our members were asked to assist as Pall Bearers. Again, being able to help carry this Hero to his final place of rest, on this weekend, had such special significance.
Tomorrow, a number of us will be honored to place Flags on the graves of the Fallen, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. I have been contacted by a number of Patriots who found our event on "google" and wish to join us tomorrow, in order to assist with Flag placement. There will be parents who will be bringing their children in order to help them visualize the true cost of Freedom. We will be joined by a couple who are in Law Enforcement, one for 33 years and the other for 20 years. They will have their children with them, as well. I have received about eight inquiries, from Veterans, Civilians and Families. It has been so uplifting to speak with these Patriotic people about their desire to participate.
This will be a weekend of Honor, Reflection and Sincere Appreciation for those who have Served and Sacrificed, so much, for our way of life. Many of us will be attending Ceremonies over the next couple of days. I continue to be so proud of our Organization. I cannot thank you enough for your amazing and continued support. What you do has never meant so much for those that we Serve.
