The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in a Welcome Home Celebration for the participants of the Southern Colorado Honor Flight on Saturday, 23-April, 6:00PM at Holmes Middle School, 2455 Mesa Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
The Honor Flight of Southern Colorado is a part of the National Honor Flight Network. The Honor Flight Network was formed in 2005 by Jeff Miller and Earl Morse with a mission of honoring our nation’s veterans by bringing them to Washington, DC to visit the memorials and monuments dedicated to their service and sacrifice. While originally focused on honoring our nation’s World War II veterans, the Honor Flight Network now also honors those who served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, intermediary operations, and in special cases of terminal illness or injury, veterans from more recent service eras. Since its formation in 2005, the Honor Flight Network has taken more than 245,000 veterans to Washington D.C. Today, the Honor Flight Network is currently comprised of over 128 hubs throughout the country dedicated to carrying out the Honor Flight mission and the Network, as a whole, serves over 22,000 veterans each year.
Due to the pandemic, the Honor Flight has been unable to complete its mission over the past 2 years, but is now able to resume operations. The PGR has been a strong support of the Honor Flights in the past. 28 Veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam will be going on this trip.

5:30PM Prepare to set Flag Line for Buses arrival
Please note, the arrival time is very fluid. The buses are coming from DIA, so flight arrival times, traffic, etc. will impact this. Please remain flexible.
Marie 'Autobahn' Glitz and 'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captains.
Rich 'Honor Man' Blackaby will bring Flags.
We and others supporting have been asked to park in the circled/highlighted area: My guess is it will fill quickly.
If you're able to help with the setup for this, please arrive a bit early, around 4:45. Thank You.
I plan on attending this. Do you have info as to which parking area we should use (north, east, or southeast)?
I will be there to honor these heros.
