The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor of Willis Day, US Army and WWII Veteran for his service and interment on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 2:00PM, at the Evangelical Free Church, 3000 E Main St, Cañon City, CO 81212.
Willis Day served in the US Army in the Philippines and Japan during 1944 and 1945 after leaving high school as a Junior to sign up. On a personal note, Willis Day is my uncle, and a great man.
This will be a multi-part Mission.
Part 1
1:00PM Stage, Evangelical Free Church
1:15PM Briefing
1:30PM Set Flag Line
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captain.
Gary 'Tin Man' Wetzel will bring Flags
Part 2
Following the service, there will be a MC Procession leading the coach from the Church to Mountain Vale Memorial Park, led by the Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders Post 38 Color Guard.
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captain for the procession and coordinate with the ALR
Part 3
Interment at Mountain Vale Memorial Park, 1700 Chestnut St., Cañon City, CO 81212
Gary 'Tin Man' Wetzel will serve as Ride Captain and will bring Flags.
I extend my most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Willis Day, US Army WWII Veteran. During this most difficult time, I pray you peace. I will forever be grateful for his service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. Rest easy now, Soldier…those you have left behind to carry on without you have the watch.

I wish to send my sincere condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Willis Day for the loss of this WWII US Army Hero. I am grateful for the service that was provided us, in the past, so we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.
