The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor for 1SG Richard Leroy Sweat, US Army, Retired, and Vietnam Veteran at The Springs Funeral Services North, 6575 Oakwood Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80923, on Thursday, July 9th, at 10:00. Richard was a decorated Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army, earning the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, along with many others. He retired from the United States Postal Service. 0915 Stage, The Springs Funeral Services North 0930 Briefing 0945 Set Flag Line for Family Arrival Rich 'Honor Man' Blackaby will serve as Ride Captain and will bring Flag and water. Wearing of facial coverings is not required for this portion, but please have them available around your neck for quick pull up in the event of any close interaction with each other or family members and guests. Interment will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 1400. We will be allowed a small group (3 or 4 members) to stand a Flag line at Interment. For those able to support it, please arrive at the cemetery between 1330 and 1340 and proceed direct to the committal shelter. Masks are required per PPNC director. This is not optional. Rich Blackaby will serve as Ride Captain and will have Flags and Water. The PPNC Interment will be discussed further at the morning service at the Funeral home. To avoid any confusion or having too many people at PPNC, please only plan to support the interment if you're able to support the morning service so you'll know the details.
