As in past years, the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to provide traffic and staging support for the annual POW/MIA Recognition Ride from Woodland Park to Cripple Creek, on Saturday, 20-August. Our role will be the same as in the past few years, directing riders to the registration area and assisting with traffic control around the High School where the ride is staging.
PGR members assisting will stage at the Woodland Park High School, 151 Panther Way, Woodland Park, CO 80863. PGR will meet in the parking lot on the SOUTH end of the school property. See map below. We will meet in the Blue circled lot.
0615AM Stage, WPHS
0630AM Briefing and assignments
0645AM Deploy to assignment areas
Registration runs from 0730 to 0930 officially, but there are always early arrivals we need to be ready for. There is a 10' length restriction for riders, meaning no Slingshots, no trailers and no super-big custom builds. We will mark the road w/ a 10' chalk line to help avoid any confusion or judgement calls.
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captain and will bring Water.
No flags will be needed.
Members who wish to participate in the ride will need to stage and work assigned areas, but will be given a break to go register and move your bike to the ride staging area, then will return to continue assisting up until registration closes.
