Please join me in welcoming Jim Herstein as he steps up to assume the role of State Captain for the CO PGR. We all know Jim as the HOTH Coordinator and now he wears the State Captain "red hat" as well. Jim has been a long standing member of the PGR and has handled the daily business of our organization for quite some time. It is a very busy job that he handles with great care and attention to detail. He is responsible for posting most of our missions and and most definitely is our "go-to guy". We are grateful and honored to have him as our State Captain and know that he will do a wonderful job! Please welcome him to this new role in Leadership and wish him well! He will much appreciate your support! As I step down from this position, please know how very grateful I am for your faith and trust in me as your State Captain over the years. It has been my great honor to be of service to you and the state of Colorado. I'm not going anywhere...I'm PGR till I die. Stay safe out there and take care of each other. Rat
Congratulations Jim (or is it condolences? 😁 ) Thanks, Rat, for serving round two well and faithfully. Now go enjoy your retirement!
Kat. Thank you for your leadership during your tenure (s). You are a great asset to the Colorado PGR. Jim Herstein: Looking forward to working with you for the many needs of the Colorado Patriot Guard Riders.
👏
Looking forward to working with you Jim. You were so involved with everything it makes since to load you up with even more. I am always ready to help when I can. Thanks Rat for stepping up when you did.
Saying thanks to Rat is not adequate. She has served as State Captain, twice, during periods of immediate need. In each case, the previous State Captains relocated to other States on relatively short notice. Rat has been involved in this Organization for at least a dozen years. She supports the active Military, Veterans and First Responders is so many ways. She is the epitome of our PGR slogan, "It's Not About Us". Only Rat knows how much she does, because she provides support without publicity and fanfare. Most recently, she located the developer who created our new website and, by the way, she works full time.
It has been an honor to work in support of her efforts during both her tenures as State Captain. I look forward to her advise and counsel during this period of transition. In about three weeks, I will begin my 14th year with the Colorado Patriot Guard. This has been an important part of my life for a very long time. I have often said that our members are the finest group of people with whom I have ever been associated. During this thirteen year period I have spent more time with our members than I have with some members of my own family. With the social distancing recommendations that are currently in place, we may not gather as a group for some time. Until we are able to return to honoring heroes and supporting families, I thank all of you for your kind words, good wishes and your ongoing support. Wishing you and yours good health during the weeks ahead. Jim
