*This mission follows a morning Escort to and Flagline at PPNC.
The Patriot Guard Riders are invited to Ride and Stand in Honor for Colonel Robert Earl Mossey (Ret), US Air Force Vietnam Veteran on Friday, April 25th, 2025, escorting his ashes from Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs CO 80918 to his inurnment at the Mount Saint Francis Columbarium, 7625 Deer Hill Grove, Colorado Springs CO 80919. We will stand a brief flagline during the committal at the columbarium.
Bob was born in Cohoes, New York in 1923. After ordination in 1948, he joined the Air Force in 1953 and served as a Chaplain for 26 years. His assignments took him to Okinawa, Turkey, Japan, Libya, and Vietnam in addition to bases stateside. Following his military retirement in 1979, Bob became active in his community, serving as a Chaplain and an Administrator. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and once served as President of the Pikes Peak Council of Sertomans. Bob enjoyed biking and skied until the age of 95. At 100 years old, in September 2023, he traveled to Washington DC as part of the Southern Colorado Honor Flight. He is survived by his wife, a sister, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
