We once again now have the opportunity to get annual access passes for Active PGR members who do not have a DoD ID Card. These passes will be for PGR mission use only, use for non-PGR activities without specific permission will result in your card being rescinded.
We (COPGR) will track attendance for on base activities, if you are granted an access card but do not attend any on base missions, your card will not be renewed. Passes will be valid for 1 year.
In the past, missions/events have included:
Unit Memorials for active duty deaths
Welcome Home and Send Off missions for deployments
Toy Drop at TAPS building
TAPS/SOS Christmas party with Gold Star Families
Memorial Day Flaglines
Other base activities we have been invited to attend or participate in, dedications, etc.
Due to COVID restrictions, the COPGR has not been very active with on base missions for the last 2 years, but we are now seeing things being relaxed and our opportunities to support Ft. Carson troops and families are coming back. That said, when on Ft. Carson, the PGR will fully comply with any and all COVID related restrictions in place, with no exceptions.
To request an access pass, EMAIL the following information to jim.balcerovich@coloradopgr.org
Full legal Name as shown on your government issued ID
Social Security Number
Driver's License Number and State
Date of Birth
Email address
If you are uncomfortable providing this information via email, you can call me. 719-466-3215, or get it to me at an upcoming mission if I'm in attendance. I would like to get all requests back to me by December 19th. Once Ft. Carson has had a chance to process them, we will try and set up times to meet at the visitors center and get our individual passes.
By requesting access, you are acknowledging and confirming you will comply with and and all Ft. Carson or PGR restrictions related to access, and will follow the direction of the mission RC at all times while on base.
All requests will be reviewed by the current southern Colorado Ride Captains. If you are not recognized as an active member, we may reach back out for additional clarification. Our goal is to not reject anyone who wishes to participate, but also to not burden Ft. Carson or the COPGR with tracking people who are not active members. If you only attend 1 or 2 missions a year, you will be asked to get a 24 hour visitors pass for any on base missions vs. having an access card.
ALL members requesting base access will be subject to a background check by Ft. Carson visitor control and final approval of our submitted list will be at the sole discretion of Ft. Carson.
