We often receive notes of appreciation for what our Colorado PGR members do. I hope that you all know how much you are appreciated by those we stand for and support. The following note is particularly poignant because of the thoughts that exist ten years after the death of this hero. My personal thanks to our members who have been there over the years to provide this level of support and comfort.
I am a Marine Gold Star mother. My son, CPL Max Donahue, was killed in Afghanistan August 4, 2010. I was first introduced to the Patriot Guards the day his body landed at Centennial Airport. The Patriot Guards were with my family from then to his funeral. We had heard that the church protest group was going to be at Max's funeral, and having his brothers and fellow Marines there, I WAS VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE THE PATRIOT GUARDS WITH US. The group thankfully didn't show up but I still remember the comfort the Patriot Guards presence gave me. I just want to say thank you and have you know how much I appreciate what you do. On this, the 10th anniversary, I am still forever grateful. Julie Schrock, Proud Mother of Max and Ryan Donahue
