The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand a Flagline as part of the 2023 Vietnam War Veterans Commemoration Ceremony on Wednesday, March 29, 10:00AM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd., Colorado Springs, CO.
The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 designates March 29th as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. It was the day in the year 1973 when the United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished which is also the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam. In addition, on and around the same day, Hanoi released the last of its acknowledge prisoners of war.
The Unites States of America Vietnam War Commemoration honors all Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location. The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration makes no distinction between veterans who served in-country, in-theater, or those who were stationed elsewhere during the Vietnam War period.
Today, there are approximately 7 million -- 6.7 million men and nearly 300,000 women -- living in America and abroad who served from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975.
