Today's Service at the Abbott Cemetery will be memorable for those who attended. On the grounds was a small Church that was built in 1913 and still has an active congregation. It is a one room church with a wood burning stove and a pump organ at the front of the church. The cemetery is small and most of the graves were on the side of a hill. The Navy was expected for the Flag presentation, but, they did not make it. The Funeral Director presented the American Flag. He then acknowledged the Patriot Guard as the Military Honors representatives. The family and friends of Vernon "Bud" Brandau could not have been more appreciative. A number of attendees came by and personally thanked us for honoring Mr. Brandau. Two of the attendees made $100.00 donations to our Organization. It was a very special and unique experience.
