Yesterday, a number of our members had the honor of standing for Susumu Robert Tamura, a proud American of Japanese decent. His life's story is quite incredible. He, his parents, a brother and two sisters were living in Stockton, CA during WWII. His family was relocated to a Japanese American Relocation Center (Internment Camp) in Rohwer, Arkansas. Even after undergoing this devastating, life altering experience, which could have led to years or lifelong bitterness towards his Country, this Patriot's love for America endured and he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for twelve years. Following his service he had a successful career and full and active life.
Rest In Peace Susumu Tamura.
To the family and friends of this hero, on behalf of a grateful nation, my condolences are offered as a token of appreciation for the honorable and faithful service rendered by your loved one!
