The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to ride with the Honor Flight attendees as they journey from Colorado Springs to DIA for their flight on Thursday, 21-April.
We will be leading the buses from their departure location, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, 530 Communication Cir, Colorado Springs, CO 80905 to Denver International Airport. This will be a roughly 90 minute ride.
As of now, there will be no LEO support for this. All traffic laws will be adhered too during the ride. Prior to the departure, we will be participating in a Flag Line while the veterans and their guardians are loading on the buses.
All riders must be present for the briefing.
I'm capping our riders at the 1st 5 who signed up below to allow the ALR posts to also be represented while keeping our numbers reasonable for an escort. If you still want to sign up it will be as an alternate should we have openings.
Riders:
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich
Dave 'Sky Watch' Vandeberg
Tom 'TBird' Robirds
Gary 'Tin Man' Wetzel
7:00AM Stage, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center
7:15AM Briefing
7:30AM Flagline
7:45AM Departure for DIA
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captain for the ride.
I will be inviting other VSO riders to participate, but want to keep the total to no more than 20 - 24 bikes.
All, I just received email this morning, the Honor Flight is taking the E-470 Toll Way to DIA. Looking at the E-470 calculator, this would amount to a $13.05 one way charge. I've asked it if will be waived for this and will let you know. If you need or want to withdraw because of this, please let me know.
With great regret, I have to withdraw from the escort ride. An out-of-town event popped up that weekend.
I will be honored to stand a flag line and escort.
I plan on attending the sendoff and escort to DIA.
Plan on riding - - two people, one bike.
I will be riding.
I will be riding.
