The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand in honor of Roger Orland Burnelli on Sunday, August 2nd, 2020, at the Grandote Peaks Golf Course, 5540 CO-12, La Veta, CO 81055 at 4:30PM. Mr. Brunelli was a High School honor student and 4 sport athlete. He went to college on a basketball scholorship, but joined the navy due to the draft. After his service he completed his education at Adam's State College and became a high school teacher in Manzanola before moving and settling in La Veta, where he taught school, and coached multiple sports. An accident on a family farm led to him being burned over 40% of his body. After his recovery, he went on to become superintendent of the La Veta School District.
Mr. Burnelli passed away in February but due to the COVID situation, never received military honors. This will be done as part of his Celebration of Life.

We have been asked to stand the flag line near the end of the Celebration of Life, during military honors, after which we will also do our presentation to the family.
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captain and will bring Flags and Water
Those wishing to ride or carpool down from Colorado Springs or north, please meet at the Doubletree by Hilton, 1775 E Cheyenne Mountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906 by 1:15PM, departure at 1:30PM. I have room for 3 passengers if anyone wants to ride along.
As of now, masks will be required for this event.
