The ceremony is to recognize and honor the over 300 Forward Air Controllers (FAC's) and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) that were killed in the war in SEA and the wars in SWA.
1:45PM Stage, Memorial Park, South of the Velodrome. See below.
2:00PM Briefing
2:15PM Prepare to set Flag Line.
This ceremony is expected to last just over an hour. We could use all the support possible to have people rotate in and out of flag line for short breaks.
Rick 'Subway' Glitz will serve as Ride Captain and will bring Flags
'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will bring additional Flags and service Flags.

For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a Forward Air Controller is a pilot who flies low and slow, alone in an unarmored, lightly armed plane to spot enemy forces, then calls for and controls airstrikes, sometimes in very close proximity to friendly ground forces. They don’t just fly to the sound of battle, they bring the battle with them. It’s a mission that takes a lot of courage. A Joint Terminal Air Controller is the modern, ground-based equivalent, frequently enlisted members embedded with ground forces.
Two FACs were awarded the Medal of Honor for their actions in Vietnam. The group gathering for this Remembrance Ceremony includes many Vietnam Veterans and at least one former POW. They’re very worthy of the respect displayed in a PGR flagline.
Anticipate this being a lengthy program. We’ll plan to rotate duties to lessen the stress.
See you there!
