It is time to schedule our Spring roadside cleanup. Our adopted section of highway is 12 miles south of Franktown and is the two miles of Highway 83 between markers 38 and 40. Let's plan to meet by 9:30AM on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the entrance to the Cherry Valley Elementary School. This school is located at marker 38 on the east side of the highway. It usually takes about 90 minutes to complete our work.
Please wear high visibility clothing, although I will have a number of safety vests. Bring work gloves and a pick up tool if you have one. I will bring some extra pick up tools and will have plenty of bottled water. I will also have garbage bags that have been supplied by CDOT.
The extended weather forecast looks favorable. The temperature will be somewhat cool, when we start, with a projected high of 71 degrees.
Thanks in advance for your participation and your help in keeping Colorado's roads clean.

Once again, we had strong participation and got the job done in short order. Appreciation for the 12 members who participated. While picking up trash, Tom Robirds recovered a tablet that had a smashed screen, but, was still operational. When I got it home, it had 27% of it's battery life remaining. Based on the information on the sign on screen, it appears to belong to a Douglas County student. It had a smart tag for use by students who travel by Douglas County school buses. I wrote to the Douglas County School District to let them know what Tom had found.
Again, thanks to all.
I plan on helping and have a question for you tomorrow.
The weather forecast looks favorable, in Franktown, tomorrow. It should be nearly 60 degrees while we are at work. The chance for rain is very low until about 2:00PM. We should be done by around 11:00AM.
I will be there.
