The Colorado Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor for Darryl H. Davis, USMC and US Army (R), Vietnam Veteran for his honors and interment on Thursday, 16-Dec, 2:00pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd., Colorado Springs, CO.
Darryl’s professional life was spent in the military with his career beginning in 1958 when he enlisted with the Marines. After five years of service with the Marines, Darryl enlisted in the Army in 1963. Darryl had a long career in the Army serving as a Medical Supervisor, Utility Helicopter Repairer and Aircraft Quality Control Supervisor. Darryl’s service soon took him to Vietnam where he served with the 1st Calvary Division. The 1st Air Calvary Division has been recognized as one of the most decorated combat divisions in the Army. Darryl’s service record reflects that of a true hero with the accolades and decorations of valor commensurate with that of his division’s record. Most notably among Darryl’s 10 decorations are the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, both honoring Darryl’s valor in combat and unwavering commitment to his comrades. Darryl’s military career spanned 30 years with his retirement in November of 1988.
