The Colorado Patriot Guard have been invited by the daughters of Abe Duran to assist with the spreading of his ashes on Sunday, June 14th, in Pueblo, Colorado. Abe was a Colorado Patriot Guard Senior Ride Captain and one of the original group members. Abe passed away on February 23rd, 2019, when we stood for his services.
We will start from the Colorado Vietnam War Memorial, 575 W 26th St, Pueblo, CO 81003. From there, 4 bikes, or 4 groups of bikes (and cages) will depart, each with a portion of Abe's Ashes, going North, South, East, and West from Pueblo and scattering them along the highway as we ride. Abe's wishes were to have this done "So I'll always be on the road with you guys"

11:15AM - Brief, Divide Ashes and break into 4 groups

'Damnit Jim' Balcerovich will serve as Ride Captain. Flags will not be needed.
Colorado Springs (and North) Riders, those wishing to gather and ride down together, be at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, 1775 E Cheyenne Mountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906, NLT 9:45AM, KSU 10:00 sharp. Abe's daughters will be meeting up with us here and going to Pueblo in our caravan. This is just off of I-25 and S. Circle Drive.
We will primarily be riding (cages welcome) on this mission and our gathering time as a group will be minimal. Therefore, if we can maintain our 6 foot separation as best possible, we should not need to limit the number of participants, as I know many have expressed an interest in supporting this when the time came. However, all participants Please have Masks available and on their neck, ready to put on, for any close interaction with the family or unavoidable interaction with each other during the time we are in a group. If you feel you cannot comply with this, please do not attend. They will not be needed for any portion of the riding. Should state and CDC mask recommendations change prior to this event, this post will be updated.
I'll be honored to be a part of Abe's last ride! See y'all at the Doubletree.
It will be an honor to attend. Abe will always be riding with us.
I should be back in town by then and plan to attend.
As it stands, I will meet you at the Double Tree.
Will plan on attending.
