Due to the Coronavirus "safer at home" guidelines, we did not schedule a Spring cleanup. It is now time to schedule our Fall roadside cleanup. Our adopted section of highway is about 12 miles south of Franktown. It is the two miles of Highway 83 between markers 38 and 40. Let's plan to meet by 9:30AM on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the entrance to the Cherry Valley Elementary School. This school is located at marker 38 on the east side of the highway. It usually takes about 90 minutes to complete our work, but, since we did not have a Spring cleanup, it may take a bit longer.
Please wear high visibility clothing, although I will have a number of safety vests. Bring work gloves and a pick up tool, if you have one. I will bring some extra pick up tools and will have plenty of bottled water. I will also have garbage bags that have been supplied by CDOT.
Thanks in advance for your participation and your help in keeping Colorado's roads clean.
The current weather forecast for Franktown calls for sunny days for the next week.
The high temperature will be near 70 degrees on Sunday. It will be cool, in the 40s or 50s when we start, at 9:30AM.
Please be sure to bring a facial covering. We will be in close proximity when we brief and when we locate to our positions to begin the cleanup.
Sincere thanks for the eleven Colorado PGR members who spent a good portion of their Sunday cleaning up our adopted section of Highway 83. We had representation from the South, East and North of Franktown.
Well done!
I’ll be there.
I will be there.
