The Colorado PGR has been invited to stand in honor at a Memorial Service for Sergeant Deloye Arnold Duggan, a 102 year old WWII Veteran who served with the US Army Air Corps. There was a very small funeral for him with no family members (none surviving) and no acknowledgment of his Military Service. This Service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 1:00PM at the Calvary Apostolic Church of Denver, 5900 East Yale Avenue, Denver 80222.
Sergeant Duggan was born on January 1, 1921, and died at the age of 102. He was inducted on July 16, 1942, at the age of 21. He received his training at St. Petersburg, Florida, Buckley Field, Colorado and at Kearns, Utah. On February 26, 1943, he embarked for the Pacific Theater where he participated in the campaigns of Bismarck Archipelago, Central Pacific, China (CBI), Eastern Mandates, Northern Solomon's, Southern Philippines, and Luzon. Sergeant Duggan earned the Distinguished Unit Badge (PUC), the Asiatic Pacific Theater (PTO) Ribbon, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was discharged on October 22, 1945.
