Help on the Homefront (HOTH)
The Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado came together
initially to shield from protest, and support the families of our fallen
heroes at funeral services for their loved ones.
While that
remains our primary mission to this day, PGR activity in Colorado has
expanded dramatically to include memorial missions at Fort Carson, Ft.
Logan and the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction; regular
visits to the VA facilities across Colorado, recovery activities for our
Wounded Warriors, support of various military oriented charities, care
package collection and shipment to our troops oversees, participation in
troop homecomings and departures, special attendance on request for
services honoring our Veterans, attendance at youth ceremonies such as
the Young Marines, and involvement in a large number of special missions
to assist the community as we’re called upon.
Whether simply
visiting a nursing home bound Veteran in need of a friend and some
conversation, welcoming a unit home after a combat tour, or developing
an education fund for the small son of a hero lost in action; we take
our dedication to the cause seriously and welcome your participation
with us.
